Mission:
S1:3: Myriad Problems
Location: Deck 6
Timeline: MD 1 21.00
Drumbeats filled the air. Strumming strings and windy flutes added haunting riffs to the cacophony, but it was the drums that dominated it. Their rhythmic pounding created a startling metaphor of the intimate happenings which transpired in the rear tractor emitter control room.
Shadi didn't bother to lock the door because nobody ever came down here. The main tractor beam was more than sufficient for most tasks; in fact, the dry dock seal remained on the door. She passed a fleeting thought for Lieutenant Zark and his efficient evaluation of all ship systems. Evidently he had performed a remote maintenance of the rear emitter through the primary system of the main emitter.
All reminiscing soon fled, though, along with higher thought of any kind. Cold-blooded passion filled the room along with the mating song of Shadi's people. Though Mazarian had played coy at first, he did not require any coercion once Shadi had led him to this place and removed her uniform.
They had rent their clothing with teeth and fangs, breathing and hissing upon one another in feral release. Shadi had always been a dominant lover, but Mazarian's coils had bound her until she yielded in submission. Gently and playfully, Mazarian released her to savage him in combative carnal release. The subsequent shrieking and howling nearly drowned out the boisterous tribal drumming.
After the fires of passion burned down to a warm kindle, Shadi laid wrapped in Mazarian's tepid bodily embrace.
"That was amazzzing." Shadi could barely breathe for the rapid beating of her four hearts.
Mazarian flicked his tongue over the scales on her neck. "You are amazing," he replied.
Shadi blushed. "Oh, you..." She gave his strong coils a tight, pinching love squeeze with her talons. "I've never met anyone like you, Mazarian. So strong... so attentive... so wise." A coo of satisfaction fluttered from her mouth.
"You are rather bright yourself," Mazarian said.
That made Shadi's big eyes shoot wide open. "Really? You think I'm smart?!"
"Indeed," Mazarian said with a cackle. "I have traveled the spheres for many cycles, learning all that I may in hopes of..." Trailing off, he sighed deeply before continuing. "... suffice it to say, I have known many wanderers in my own sojourning. You are the keenest of them all."
Shadi felt her hearts skip all their beats. "That is the nicest thing anyone'sss ever said to me..."
Rather than speak, Mazarian hummed, his voice rising to a soft, lulling melody. Shadi felt herself melt away within his embrace, their scales becoming one. And with as many times Mazarian had made her shed, the scales were becoming rather clustered.
"This is the best day of my life," Shadi whispered. "I never want it to end."
"Why should it?" Mazarian asked.
Shadi sighed again, this time in disappointment as reality came crashing down on her. "Because we're from different ships, of different worlds. Oh, Mazarian, this could never be..."
"That could change." Mazarian's tone was light but hopeful. "Come with me, Shadi."
The proposal gave Shadi great pause. It seemed once in a lifetime opportunity to see the unknown with a divine dragon straight out of the mythic eddas. But could she actually leave the Traveller? Even in pursuit of her one true love?
"Perhaps... you could come with me?" Shadi wondered aloud.
"You owe it to yourself to step aboard Abborax's ship," Mazarian said, his voice taking a tone of awe and wonder. "We could travel the spheres together, taking in the sights, making discoveries, witnessing trades. It is a great honor to travel with the Myriad."
It sounded so tempting. "Maybe... maybe Captain Remas would allow a temporary reassignment. It could be a diplomatic mission. Abborax could always rendezvous with the Traveller at any time, right?"
Mazarian's lips pulled back to reveal a double row of long, glistening white fangs. A truly devilish smile that made Shadi feel engorged. "But of course."
Then it was decided. They would speak to their masters, Shadi with Remas and Mazarian with Abborax, to find agreeable terms for Shadi's temporary voyage with the Myriad. Once an accord was struck, they would never need be apart.
